Honors English
Summer 2018 Welcome to Honors English! Congratulations for being selected to join this English class. This class will be a great way for you to start out your freshman year with something exciting and challenging. While honors classes do require more work than usual courses at Louisville High School, they are also more rewarding. One of the many goals for Freshman Honor’s English is to introduce you to new forms of writing and new types of literature. Summer is a perfect time to relax, enjoy the weather, and read some great books! As an honors student, it is important that you can complete assignments and read independently. You are required to read two novels: The Book Thief and one that you may pick from a list on the attached handout, which also includes all the details for these assignments. You will be keeping a reading journal for The Book Thief and you will make a creative collage for the book of your choice. Summer work is due on the first Freshman Day- Late work is not accepted! Please bring both of your books, the journal and the creative project on that day. If you have any questions about the summer work, please do not hesitate to email me over the summer as I check my email often. [email protected] I look forward to meeting you, Mrs. Hofener |
Summer 2019 AssignmentsAll students are required to buy or rent their own books for the summer reading.
